John Brodie Photography
We are a Husband & Wife Wedding Photography business based in North Shields. We live with our two children and our two fur babies Meg & Mo in the shape of Staffordshire Bull Terriers who are not averse to giving out deadly licks. North Shields is a town situated in North Tyneside on the mouth of the river Tyne and around 8 miles East of Newcastle.
We are primarily North Shields Wedding Photographers, but we also cover the surrounding areas as Tyne & Wear Wedding Photographers, Northumberland Wedding Photographers and County Durham Wedding Photographers. We do also cover all of the UK.

Who Is Behind The Lens
My name is John Brodie and I am an accomplished and experienced wedding, portrait and wildlife photographer as well as being an avid photography enthusiast. My love affair with photography commenced back in 1976. I was initially inspired by my Father, an amateur photographer in his own right. My very first camera was a 35mm Canon AE Program, cutting edge technology in its day. Today I use the Canon EOS 5D Mk3 and the Canon R5.
Photography hasn't always been my main profession, I served an apprenticeship as a pipe fitter and have worked all my life in the Oil & Gas industry in many corners of the world. My job has taken me to Australia, Far East, Middle East, Scandinavia and Europe.
It was during my time working in the Far East that I first entered the digital world of Photography and I bought my first Digital SLR Camera which was an EOS10D. I very soon outgrew this great entry level camera and traded up to the fabulous Full Frame EOS 5D. This camera was then superseded by the Canon EOS 5D Mk3, and recently I have upgraded to the amazing Canon R5 Full Frame Mirrorless camera. The Canon R5 will be my weapon of choice now as it is probably one of the best cameras for wedding photography, in fact it is just a great all round camera. This Canon R5 will be backed up by the EOS 5D Mk3.
With the horrendous challenges that 2020 has thrown at all of us, I took the decision to use my photography skills to build a business but while still continuing taking photographs and editing in other areas that I love, such as wildlife photography, local photography, old photo restorations and photoshop conversions. Heres hoping 2021 is a great year ahead.
Even though I have been taking wedding, portrait and animal photos for around 10 years, 2021 sees me expanding and doing these events as a business.
Who Makes Tea & Carries Camera Equipment
That will be me name is Lisa Brodie and I am the member of this team that gels the whole operation together, whether it is making tea, sorting quotes, invoices, receipts and general paperwork. Or carrying equipment, holding lights to organising groups for those that want the more traditional style of Wedding Photography. So you see I am very important, all John does is take photos and edit them?
When you make contact with us through the booking form, e-mail, Facebook or Instagram you will more than likely be talking to me. I will guide you through the booking process and be on hand to answer any of your questions as we lead up to your Wedding Day. I will be on hand to take away as much of the stress as I can so you can both be relaxed and enjoy your very special day.
I look forward to meeting you and being part of producing some amazing memories.
